Yes, using the DJI cage and mount it works for vertical filming.

We don't currently offer top and bottom mounts for the Vifly on the Mini 4 Pro, but we can easily make them. Right now we only offer front and back arm mounts for the Vifly strobes. I will reply back to you when they are ready for purchase, give us a few days for design and testing.

We've added 2 options to the Mini 4 Pro Vifly strobe mounts for you. We now have a top mount and downward facing mounts that attach to the front arms. We did the downward facing option on the front arms because there isn't a good place to clip them to on the bottom, we've done this for several other drone models and it works well. Did you successfully install the GoPro Labs firmware? Do you see the GoPro Labs banner when you turn the camera on?

The Micro Pro is brighter than the ARC V. The ARC V has (5) 3 watt LED's for 15 combined watts of output. The Micro Pro has (3) 10 watt LED's for 30 combined watts of output. Right now the Micro Pro is the brightest strobe light Firehouse Technology offers.

This can be difficult in complete darkness unless you have enough light to be able to do a Point of Interest flight mode. Select your POI on screen and have it rotate at the speed you wish.

You can't install the GoPro Labs firmware through the Quick App. You need to do it manually. Go to the GoPro Labs website and download the firmware for the Hero 12 and copy it to your SD card. Pop your SD card, power it on and in and it will install. Here is the link to download the firmware: gopro.github.io/labs/

Without knowing more about your situation I can offer this advice: If your battery level is dropping quickly, or the camera turns off suddenly with you still have 40% battery or more you have a bad battery pack. Have you tried replacing it?

After you apply USB power and it turns on and starts recording do you see a message on the screen "END AFTER USB DISCONNECT"? if you just see "USB DISCONNECT" you may have an issue with your cable. It is set to stop recording after 10 seconds from losing USB Power. I just converted our Hero 9 to GoPro Labs firmware and tested it with the QR code we offer in the links, and it is working as expected, it records infinitely until it loses power then records an additional 10 seconds and powers off.

Reach out to Firehouse or whoever you purchased it from, they should be able to help you out.

Your Naked GoPro 8 will take a different cable / connector to the camera, but adding an XH connector to the wires on the LiPo side is the same. Be sure to check your maximum input voltage to your naked GoPro and stay under that.

The process is identical for all 5 GoPro models, just be sure to download the correct GoPro Labs firmware for your GoPro 12.

Under normal conditions you can't see the light from the strobes when mounted to the arms. There are 3 scenarios that you may be able to see it in your images: 1. During mist and fog conditions - The strobe light can reflect off the water droplets in the air. 2. If you are close to your subject, it's like shining a flashlight on your subject. 3. If your props are in view (usually not a problem DJI's current drones) - If your props are in view the light can reflect off the bottom of the props. We sell thousands of strobe mounts every year for a variety of drone models and strobe light combinations and haven't had any issues. Hope that helps!

It still flies fine, it is a bit heavier in the air and flight times are slightly reduced, but that can be expected.

It depends on how you fly. Normal (non aggressive) flights you can expect around a 20-25% flight time decrease due to the extra weight of the GoPro.

Yes, I use blue. Blue is the best for this application in my opinion (if you want to be able to remove them in the future).

@@AerialPixel Thank you for replying , I have just got some prop adapters for my DJI FPV drone and some blue medrm locktite thread locker. I asked on a DJI FPV drone group on Facebook if I should use threadlocker but the response I got from most people was it maybe risky as there is plastic in the motor holes and some may fall into the motors, I feel the prop adapters will need thread locker. What's your opinion on this? Thank you 🙏🙏

I'm not sure where they are getting that there is plastic in the motor holes, perhaps they aren't familiar with the Aikon prop adapter install. The black plastic ring on the motors is removed leaving only the aluminum motor bell. Any metal-to-metal screwed connection should use thread locker. I would recommend applying the thread lock to the screws and allowing it to air dry before installing them.

@@AerialPixel Great thank you I will do that, thank you for your help I was sure it was just metal to metal, they just said they had been using the prop adaptors for ages without threadlocker and always been fine and was risky using it. I agree with you that it's better to use it as the motors are spinning at such a high speed, lot of tension on those little screws. Thanks again 🙏

When you flip to vertical mode just make sure you have about a 15 degree uptilt on the camera angle and you should get the front ducts out of frame. Just make sure if you have stabilization turned on you rock the drone up and down a few times to make sure they are completely out of view.

My understanding they should be out within the next couple weeks. I believe Firehouse was starting USB-C on the Standard ARC V first though.

It flies fine with the X2. But the X3 and X4 are much heavier and may be too much for the Avata 2 to handle, I haven't tried those yet.

@@AerialPixel Thanks. I hope you can a video of an X3 on top of it. I'd really like to know. I saw Drone Captain put an X3 on his FPVs (not Avata).

The Avata 2's camera is good... if you like high frame rates. Unfortunately high frame rates don't look very cinematic. That is where having a separate action camera comes into play, getting 24 or 30fps looks so much better and is even a requirement for some jobs when filming professionally. For the casual flyer the O4 camera will be fine.

Very useful for clients requesting 24fps for professional tv and film applications. Added benefit of being able to view in lower latency and auto exposure for flying in darker environments too

Hi Cristián, with traditional FPV filming we normally set our camera angle based on the approximate speed we want to go. The faster you need to go the more uptilt you will need, or opposite for going slower. The reason for this is the drone tilts forward to go forward, the idea is to keep your horizon where you want in the frame based on your speed. We have tested our mount with the Hero 12, and Hero 11 Mini, it works very well with both cameras. Yes you can use it indoor as well, I would suggest sampling both the onboard camera as well as the GoPro footage before getting to a job to fine tune your settings. Hope that helps!

Is that correct? So, in this case, if the camera is placed in the middle of the drone and I use the wide-angle lens, my specific question is: won't the front part of the drone appear in the shot? Adding a 2nd camera is good for filming in lower frame rates for better motion blur. For casual shooting the internal O4 camera is fine.

@@AerialPixel 25 fps is good, but shooting with a 180deg shutter is not a good idea with FPV. It generally leads to too much motion blur and if your quad is not incredibly smooth, vibrations in the footage combined with low shutter can actually make your footage look out of focus from vibrations that are visible in Gyroflow. It's best to shoot with a slightly higher shutter (ie. 1/100) You still get plenty of motion blur as you're going much faster with FPV anyway

I agree, I usually shoot with a 90deg shutter angle with FPV, gives just the right amount of motion blur and Gyroflow still handles the footage fine.

The camera draws so little power it's not even noticeable. Adding additional weight with a separate LiPo would decrease flight times more.
